Setting the Table

For the concert with the Tramharmonie, I have created a brand-new video piece inspired by the composition Venus from The Planets by Gustav Holst – and my own fascination with instructions, language, and imagery.

The work, titled Setting the Table, begins with familiar actions – folding napkins, arranging plates, setting cutlery – but gradually transforms into a playful exploration of the solar system. All the while, a warning from the etiquette handbook lingers in the background: “We must not play with silverware or anything else on the table!”
